Ambulatory Surgery Center Tour
The Operating Rooms
By the time you reach the operating room, you've had an opportunity to speak with your anesthesiologist, meet the nurses, and talk with your surgeon. You've had an opportunity for any and all of your questions to be answered and now it is time to relax and see what makes Commonwealth Surgical Suites a comfortable and unique surgical experience.
When you enter the operating room, you may see bright lights, equipment, instruments, and a noticeably CLEAN environment. That's because you are entering into a sterile environment. Great care has gone into the preparation of the equipment, instruments, and the environment for your surgical procedure. As you move from the stretcher to the operating room table, you will probably be a little chilled! Not to worry, we have thought of everything; from pre-warmed IV solution to toasty-warm blankets to wrap around you.
The anesthesia personnel will be at the head of your bed and begin to administer medications to make you comfortable and relax you. Once you are medicated, your skin is cleaned and your surgery will begin.
While you are in surgery, your family member(s) or companion will be comfortably waiting in the reception area or may be provided with a pager if they need to leave the facility.
