Nancy Gaillard, DPT
After many years of high school athletics and ballet dancing, Nancy’s interests led her to pursue a career in physical therapy. She graduated from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY in 2002 with a BS/MS degree in physical therapy. After graduation, she worked for Huntington Rehabilitation in South Pasadena, California. Nancy has also taken the additional post graduate classes for her doctorate degree from Northeastern University.
Nancy also serves in the US Army Reserve as a physical therapist and takes pride in treating our returning soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Originally from Central Massachusetts, Nancy enjoys living in the Northern Virginia area with her husband and chocolate Labrador retriever. In her spare time from Commonwealth, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, running, canoeing, and snowboarding.
Jennifer Ott, MPT
Clinic Manager of the Herndon PT office.
Growing up as a competitive dancer, Jennifer was exposed to orthopedic injuries early on. After positive personal experience as a patient, she knew her career path would lead to physical therapy. Jennifer received her bachelors of science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. She then moved on to the University of Delaware, known for its concentration in orthopedics, and earned a masters degree in Physical Therapy.
Jennifer's professional career started at Washington Hospital Center where she focused on orthopedic and trauma patients. She continues to work with the inpatient orthopedic and trauma populations at Inova Fairfax Hospital on the weekends, but decided to join Commonwealth Orthopedics in 2002 to work in outpatient orthopedic recovery. Jennifer has centered her continuing education around manual therapy and enjoys working hands-on with patients.
Jennifer and her husband live in northern Virginia and enjoy yoga, golfing, and cycling.
Kristin Royen, DPT
Kristin was born and raised in and around Charlotte, NC. She attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, where she received a B.S. in Biology. She stayed at East Carolina for graduate school where she got a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Orthopedics is her favorite area of physical therapy. She started with Commonwealth in 2009 after moving to Northern Virginia.
Kristin is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and hopes to one day achieve certifications in manual therapy and be an orthopedic certified specialist (OCS). Kristin enjoys spending time with her dog Samantha, a black lab mix, going to the beach, volleyball, and boating.
Amy Sanderl, DPT
Amy was raised outside of Seattle, Washington, where she spent most of her time playing sports, especially soccer and track. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, where she received her B.A. in Exercise Science with a Sports Medicine emphasis. She then went on to Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Amy has always enjoyed the challenge and variety of the orthopedic physical therapy setting.
Amy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and hopes to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). Her professional focus includes orthopedics, sports injuries and manual therapy. In her free time, Amy continues to play soccer and compete in local running events and enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Champ.
Jean Wang, MPT
Jean received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiological Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park. She received her graduate degree in physical therapy at the University of Delaware, Newark.
Her professional focus includes orthopedics and women’s health. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Her favorite things are snow, animals and family.
Michelle Zarnegar, DPT, COMT
A native of Northern Virginia, Michelle attended George Mason University for her undergraduate studies, earning a B.S. in Biology. She then moved on to Shenandoah University where she earned a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2001, and later a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2004.
vMichelle earned her Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) credential through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars in 2007. She has also had additional training in techniques including McKenzie, Jones strain-counterstrain, Integrative Manual Therapy, myofascial release, Pilates-based rehab exercises, treatment of SI joint dysfunctions, functional exercises, and higher level sport agility/plyometric exercises.As an enthusiastic recreational triathlete, Michelle competes in races regularly and is a member of USA Triathlon. Other activities Michelle enjoys include waterskiing, wakeboarding, hiking, reading, and traveling. She also loves relaxing and spending time with her husband, two daughters, family, and friends.
