Director of Physical Therapy

Jo-Anne Burton, PT, DPT

Jo-Anne Burton, PT, DPT, is a native of Virginia. She went to undergraduate school at VCU and received her PT degree from the Medical College of Virginia. In May 2011, she received her Doctorate in PT. She has had a diverse career in physical therapy starting out in a Level I Trauma Center and then became Chief of PT/OT in a community based hospital in Newport News.

Once she moved to Northern Virginia, she was in private practice for many years treating orthopedic and sports medicine patients until her practice was acquired by NovaCare. While at NovaCare, she was awarded the Chairman’s Award for outstanding patient care and service. In 1998, she became the Director of Physical Therapy for Commonwealth Orthopaedics.

She is an active member of the APTA, VPTA, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Sections, and ACE.

In addition to physical therapy, she is a certified fitness instructor.
