Daniel E. Weingold, MD
See patient testimonial below.
Born in New York City, Dr. Daniel Weingold became interested in the health
care field at a young age as he watched his father practice medicine. Dr.
Weingold attended the Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland, and then went
on to earn an undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine
and finished his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency training at
George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Weingold benefited from his experiences working as a nursing assistant at the George Washington University Medical Center Emergency Room during his college summer vacations. With a desire to help people of all ages recover from a wide variety of conditions, he feels it is important to individualize his treatment approach for each patient. He always considers a non-operative approach first, however if surgery is necessary, he recommends a broad range of arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures to get patients back to a functional and comfortable level. Having been through his own ACL reconstruction and lumbar disc surgery, he has experienced injury, surgery, and recovery from the patient’s perspective and feels like he can relate well to his patients.
Dr. Weingold enjoys a number of orthopaedic specialties. His particular interest areas include sports injuries, arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, knee arthroscopy and reconstruction, fracture care, and shoulder, hip, and knee joint replacement. In addition to being clinically well-rounded, Dr. Weingold is also fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Weingold is currently Chief of Orthopaedics at Inova Alexandria Hospital where he also serves on the Operating Room Committee. In a role that compliments his interest in sports medicine, Dr. Weingold serves as team physician for the Robert E. Lee High School football team and provides sports physicals as well. He also participates in the Inova Health System “Learn from the Experts” free community seminars.
Dr. Weingold and his wife, Barbara, a retired ER nurse, have three young children—a boy and two girls. In their free time, the Weingolds enjoy playing tennis, swimming, and spending time together as a family.
Patient Testimonials
Ratemds.com Comments:
I have gone to Dr Weingold for both knees and have never had a problem. My family has used Dr Weingold many times and has never had a problem with him. I found him to be very helpful for my wife, me and my mother and brother in law. I will use Dr Weingold again when needed and will send my friends and the rest of my family. Great doctor because he cares and will listen to your pain.
Dr. Weingold was great with my son. He took the time to explain his condition and the steps we needed to get him back to sports. He answered all our questions thoughtfully, showed us the x-rays and prescribed the right treatment. He has taken care of our whole family and I strongly recommend him to my friends and coworkers.
Dr. Dr. Weingold,
My new knees and I have just hiked 2.5 miles to view Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. It’s so wonderful to be able to travel and enjoy the wonders of the world! Saw Mandela’s house in Johannesburg, the Cradle of Human kind near Pretoria and on to Botswana tomorrow for a safari. Later Cape Town! Is there a downside? Special handling of airport security - no big deal.
