Kevin C. Lutta, MD


Dr. Lutta graduated cum laude with a BA in Biology from Clark University in Worcester, MA. He earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Howard University Hospital and went on to a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at Pennsylvania Hospital, part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Dr. Lutta lived in Northern Virginia while he was a medical student and a resident, and he’s excited to return to the area to join Commonwealth Orthopaedics’ world-class group of physicians. He’s a sports enthusiast who plans to share his medical expertise with local high school and college athletic teams. During his residency, he was a physician for football and basketball teams in the District of Columbia public schools.

As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Lutta is committed to helping his patients return to their desired level of activity and improve their quality of life. He is actively engaged in clinical research to ensure he provides Commonwealth patients with the most advanced, state-of-the-art techniques for the operative and non-operative management of foot and ankle problems.

Dr. Lutta received the Certificate of Achievement in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Charles Epps Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Howard University College of Medicine. He is a candidate member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

In his free time, he enjoys music, traveling and sports. He lives in Fairfax.
