Pain Management Program
Commonwealth Orthopaedics is pleased to provide a referral-based Pain Management Program staffed by Dr. Brett Robinson, a board-certified anesthesiologist with extensive training in the area of procedural pain management. Dr. Robinson is experienced in treating neuropathies, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, and chronic and acute back pain.
When a patient with neck or back pain is referred to the Pain Management Program by a Commonwealth Orthopaedics' physician or an outside referral source, Dr. Robinson determines which procedure(s) will be most effective for managing the patient’s chronic or acute pain. In most cases, performing a series of non-operative procedures will delay and may prevent the need for surgery.
The procedures most commonly used in the Pain Management Program include:
- Epidural steroid injections (cervical and lumbar)
- Medial branch blocks
- Facet blocks
- Lumbar sympathetic blocks (for treating Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)
- and others.
Patients who are interested in Pain Management services should contact a Commonwealth Orthopaedics’ physician or their personal physician for a referral.
