- Medical Office Support Secretary
Commonwealth Orthopaedics has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Office Support Secretary with our busy Orthopaedics practice located in Arlington, VA. The support secretary will primarily handle check-out responsibilities to include processing payments and reconciling daily payment transactions. Other responsibilities include patient check-in, scheduling follow-up appointments, receiving phone calls, and updating and scanning patient records. He/she will serve as liaison between patients and the clinical staff, and will work toward ensuring efficiency and excellent customer service. This is a full-time position with a 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM work schedule.
Basic qualifications include: H.S. diploma, medical office experience, and fundamental computer skills. Ideal candidates will have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a medical office, be professional, organized, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Physical Therapy Front Office Coordinator
Commonwealth Orthopaedics has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Front Office Coordinator for our Physical Therapy Clinics in Herndon and Fair Oaks. The primary duties of the front office coordinator are as follows:
- Maintain the registration desk, answer phone lines, and schedules appointments
- Accurately complete registration process - enter and update patient information, verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and collect appropriate co-pays
- Provide administrative support to providers as needed (e.g. filing, distributing dictation, etc.)
- Provide general office assistance including purchasing of office supplies, maintenance of office equipment.
- Coordinate with billing office on collections and balancing payments.
- Serve as liaison between patients and the clinical staff, and will work toward ensuring efficiency and excellent customer service.

- Physician Assistant
Commonwealth Orthopaedics is currently accepting resumes for licensed Physician Assistants to work in our offices located across Northern Virginia. The primary responsibility of this position is direct patient care and surgical assistance under the direction of the supervising physician. The PA will be involved in the coordination of treatment and assist in the management of preoperative and postoperative care. In coordination with the supervising physician, the PA will develop a comprehensive plan of care, assist with hospital rounds, and collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity quality care. - Orthotist, Part-time
Commonwealth Orthopaedics is recruiting a part-time experienced Orthotist for a busy Orthopaedics practice with medical offices located across Northern Virginia. While this position is initially intended to be part-time there is potential for a full-time role based on program growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to be part of building an Orthotic program within a practice.
The Orthotist promotes and provides orthotic care to patients under the direction of and in consultation with the physician. The Orthotist will maintain a self-servicing lab and is responsible for meeting daily patient care objectives at a variety of patient care sites within the practice. He/she assists patients, families, therapists and physicians by providing care and applying expertise to assure that clinical objectives and quality standards are achieved. The orthotist promotes and provides orthotic services in accordance with American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics standards.
Orthotic services are administered through up-to-date knowledge of assessment, biomechanics, normal human development, treatment plan formulation, measurement / cast impressions, and follow-up care. The orthotist is responsible for documentation, fabrication, CAD/CAM, patient/ referral management, coding/billing procedures, as well as adherence to departmental policies and schedule management.
Basic qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree. Active certification as an Orthotist/Prosthetist and 1-2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, yet collaborate well with a team. The individual should be creative, driven, and have strong attention to detail as it relates to administration of the orthotic program for insurance verification and billing purposes.

- Insurance Billing Representative

The department provides billing services for Commonwealth's physicians' offices, physical therapy facilities and surgical suites.
The desired candidate should have at least three years of experience with patient and insurance billing to include CPT, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding, following up insurance claims and patient inquiries, as well as denials and appeals. This is a fast-paced environment that requires an individual with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.

- Patient Access Representative
Commonwealth Orthopaedics has exciting opportunities for full-time experienced patient access representatives for the Centralized Call Center. The new Centralized Call Center is located at the Corporate office location at 11240 Waples Mill Rd in Fairfax. The Patient Access Representatives provide exceptional patient service by answering, responding to, and routing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, physicians, hospitals, staff and other callers. They ensure a positive first impression of Commonwealth Orthopaedics for all callers who are new to the practice and sustain that experience through future interactions with the call center. They also ensure quality and continuity of service by adhering to established appointment access protocols.

- Purchasing Assistant
Commonwealth Orthopaedics is recruiting a full-time Purchasing Assistant to work in our Administrative Office. Under the supervision of the Director of Materials Management, the Purchasing Assistant provides general administrative assistance to the Materials Management operation of the practice. Duties include processing purchase orders for acquisition of goods and services on behalf of the practice. Monitors and updates inventory as needed for the ASC. Assists with billing matters and ensures accurate invoicing. Assists in developing new or revised policy and procedures within the Department of Materials Management.
Basic qualifications include: H.S. diploma, and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a medical office or purchasing department. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are a must. Ideal candidates will have exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
